ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Lead new product development process and ensure projects are well planned and led.
-Champion the stage gate process at IGM Resins USA.
-Ensure viability of all new product developments for scale-up and manufacturing and regulatory compliance in all countries in which commercialization is envisioned.  
-Assess new project ideas for technical feasibility and if the project opportunity supports the initiation of the new product development process.
-Conduct prior art searches to ensure freedom to practice for all new product and process developments; Identify any new IP that needs to be protected.
-Report to VP Technology, Global Product Management teams and North American Leadership Team on status of projects.
-Visit and communicate with customers in support of potential or current development project and technical service issues. 
-Manage and develop Charlotte synthesis, application and analysis labs and support staff.  
-Provide technical expertise to North American sales, regulatory, EHS, and process improvement teams as needed.
-Support identifying product packages (existing & new) to strengthen IGM’s position in our target market segments.
-Support IGM position as the leading supplier to the UV/EB market through participation in industry groups and creating/coordinating technical presentations and papers.
-Support Global Product Management, Global Technical Team and North American commercial team in new product developments driven from other IGM R&D centers;
-Participate on Global Technical team and share/utilize best practices and knowledge across IGM R&D centers;
-Identify potentially interesting technology under development in academia and make proposals to VP Technology/Product Manager Acrylates to support/sponsor/license.
-Manage development projects at universities as directed by VP Technology.
-Ensure laboratory notebooks are maintained at the standard developed by the USPTO and are archived safely.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
-Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree from an accredited university or college in Chemistry or related discipline in the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and/or work experience.
-5 years of experience in a similar management position with specific experience developing acrylate products.
-Well-developed oral and written knowledge of English language. 
-International business background, working for a multi-national manufacturing company
