Unlocking the Potential: Study Reveals Key Properties of Our Urethane Acrylates

Urethane acrylates have long been recognized for their exceptional properties and versatility in various industries. At iGM Resins, we are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, striving to provide our customers with the most reliable and high-performing materials. To further understand and optimize the performance of our urethane acrylates, we recently conducted an in-depth study, measuring essential characteristics including glass transition temperature, tensile strength, and elongation of our Photomer 6000 series urethane acrylates. In this overview we share key properties measured from a selection of our undiluted urethane acrylate oligomers.

Glass transition temperature (Tg) is a crucial parameter that determines the polymer’s transition from a glassy state to a rubbery state. It influences the material’s mechanical and thermal properties. Through meticulous testing and analysis, we determined the Tg values for our urethane acrylates, enabling us to identify suitable applications for different temperature ranges and provide tailored solutions to our customers.

Tensile strength is another fundamental property that measures the maximum stress a material can withstand before breaking under tension. Our study examined the tensile strength of our urethane acrylates, demonstrating their exceptional mechanical strength and durability. This knowledge empowers our customers to confidently choose our materials for demanding applications where strength and resilience are paramount.

Elongation, or the ability of a material to stretch without breaking, is a critical consideration in applications requiring flexibility and resilience. Our study extensively evaluated the elongation properties of our urethane acrylates, providing valuable insights into their capacity to withstand elongation and return to their original shape. This information allows our customers to make informed decisions regarding the suitability of our materials for specific applications that demand excellent elongation performance.
