COVID-19 UPDATE March 30th, 2020

As the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect daily lives, business and world markets we want to take this opportunity to provide a short update from IGM Resins.  Many of our team members are now working effectively from their homes as we follow the advice of governments and focus on ensuring the safety and health of all our employees.

Our factories remain operational with Haimen China responding to increased demand for photoinitiators for sensitive and food packaging applications, Mortara Italy working on a reduced schedule in line with the safety mandates of local government, and Charlotte USA operating to plan on production of energy curable resins.

In these uncertain times, we kindly request that if our customers anticipate any changes to their demand patterns, or if you have any queries or concerns, then please let your account management contact know so that we can keep working together as smoothly as possible.

COVID-19 UPDATE March 23rd, 2020

MORTARA ITALY PHOTOINITIATOR PRODUCTION TO CONTINUE FOLLOWING MARCH 21st ANNOUNCEMENT IN ITALY TO CONTAIN THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS

On Saturday March 21st, 2020 the Italian Prime Minster Giuseppe Conte announced that all Italian businesses must close until April 3, with the exception of those essential to maintaining the country's supply chain, in the latest effort to halt the coronavirus epidemic.  As the details of the associated decree have become clear, we can confirm to our customers that the production of photoinitiators at IGM’s Mortara facility is not affected by this latest move.

The Mortara facility has adopted working practices to ensure the health and safety of all employees and the site is, as a minimum, strictly following government guidelines and recommendations for a safe work environment.  Our priority is, and will continue to be, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone working at an IGM facility, globally.

We continue to actively monitor the ongoing situation and give our assurance to our customers of our commitment and capability to continue to deliver the products vital to your business.

COVID-19 UPDATE March 16th, 2020

Situation in Mortara related to the COVID-19 has not changed. We hereby (re)confirm;

  • IGM’s Mortara, Italy Photoinitiator production site remains operational, there are no recorded infections. Production is therefore only limitedly impacted due to increased safety standards and reduced staff per shift. We do not currently foresee any changes to the normal allocation of the key Mortara produced Photoinitiators to regular customers.
  • The Italian government authorities and IGM’s suppliers and transporters have (re)confirmed that all the business and production activities can continue including the movement of raw materials, finished goods, waste disposals and commuting of staff.

We reconfirm IGM 's China production and Charlotte production are also unaffected.

COVID-19 UPDATE March 2nd, 2020

  • The safety and health of our global employees is of the highest concern and priority of the IGM Executive team.
  • IGM’s China operations resume production of Photoinitiators and outbound logistics, both sea-freight and air-freight, are operating as normal.

COVID-19 UPDATE February 17th, 2022

  • The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) containment strategy by the Chinese Government continues with at least 21 provinces, municipalities and regions imposing further restrictions on enterprises returning to work.
  • Many specialty chemical producers in China remain closed including IGM’s Haimen Photoinitiator production facility. Local Government has notified IGM Haimen of a February 21st restart date and we are planning based on the current information which is subject to change by the authorities.
  • Logistics disruption is likely to delay the transport of goods with few cargo flights operating between Europe/USA and China and ports log-jammed with container boxes.
  • Disruption in the supply chain is highly likely to occur as local stocks of Photoinitiators deplete and replenishment from China is delayed.
  • IGM Haimen holds inventory built up prior to the planned shut down for Chinese New Year and we have the ability to recover lost production time if permitted to restart the operation as noted above.
  • Regional stocks of Photoinitiators produced in China vary and customers will be advised by their local account manager of imminent disruptions in supply.
  • Production of Photoinitiators at IGM’s Mortara, Italy production facility has been increased to support those customers contracted with IGM. No immediate disruption in Mortara operations is foreseen.
  • We will continue to keep our customer base updated as the situation develops over the coming weeks.
  • Photomer UV Acrylates production in Charlotte and Taiwan are largely unaffected.
  • The safety and health of our team in China, and all those affected, is of the highest concern and priority of the IGM Executive team.
