ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Develop and implement long-range plans for mechanical equipment by creating and maintaining equipment reliability programs.
-Responsible for training area personnel on mechanical technologies to improve reliability efforts. Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to develop improved maintenance techniques.
-Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and drawings to ensure integrity of site equipment. 
-Design and track maintenance, quality, and root cause metrics and analyses as related to equipment operability.
-Collaborate directly with Production Operators and Maintenance Technicians to understand equipment operation and develop practical, easy to understand operating instructions.
-Work with vendors and contractors to evaluate and design equipment reliability software and programs. 
-Identify opportunities and changes that will improve products, processes or reduce costs and provide feedback to supervisors and management.  
-Write detailed CAPEX document to request funds for equipment reliability investments. 
-Provide documentation for the IGM MOC database and lead completion of the MOC, PSSR, and PHAs, where applicable. 
-Provide start-up support to meet production and business needs when needed for reliability projects. 
-Follows all plant safety rules. Adheres to applicable EPA regulations for proper labeling and disposal of chemical compounds and waste.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or combination of education, technical certifications, training and /or work experience. 
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering and equipment maintenance in a small batch chemical manufacturing environment.
-Word processing, spreadsheet software, AutoCad.

COMPETENCIES
-Strong communication skills    
-Ability to perform higher level math skills involving various detailed engineering and statistical calculations
-Experience with maintenance, design, and/or installation of chemical process equipment, including piping, valves, tanks, pumps, and pressure vessels. 
-Experience in designing and executing equipment reliability projects. 
-Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented with proven success working independently and in an multi-functional team environment.
-Able to manage multiple projects 
-Experience in batch chemical manufacturing.
